Sojitz Marine & Engineering Corporation (President Hiroyuki Osone - Headquarters Tokyo, Japan) and Orient Marine Co., Ltd., (President Nobuyuki Tanaka - Headquarters Tokyo, Japan) have announced to form a business alliance with Ship Equipment-related Businesses.
Today, the two companies are promoting related businesses as members of the Japan Maritime Cluster. However, in a difficult business environment, we have deepened our involvement and established a policy for business alliances with ship equipment manufacturers and shipyards with the aim of strengthening relationships with the aim of realizing a new style of marine vessel equipment industry that looks ahead to the next era.
In the marine equipment industry, we have developed ship forms such as automatic navigation vessels and electrified vessels that comply with the latest environmental regulations. The existence of a giant European system integrator that carries out basic design, equipment development, and procurement is attracting attention, and it is understood that the Japanese version of the system integrator is expected to be formed in Japan's Maritime Cluster as well.
Through the business alliance, the two companies will take on the challenge of addressing the various issues of the era, such as environmental measures and digitalization, making use of their extensive networks and long years of experience to actively propose system development.
We would like to engage in joint development.
Currently, the new type of coronavirus is having a major impact on our lives and the global economy, and we will take on the challenge of becoming a new type of shipbuilding industry.
